Workshop on the 4^th of Mai 2023 with Jorge Caballero Ramos

This work­shop explores how (mov­ing) images can be ana­lyzed, clas­si­fied, cre­ated, and edited using open source and arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence (AI) algorithms. It will be con­duc­ted by Jorge Caballero Ramos who is a film dir­ect­or and pro­du­cer at Gusano Films and a pro­fess­or at the Uni­ver­sid­ad Pom­peu Fabra in Barcelona.

Through a the­or­et­ic­al and prac­tic­al pro­gram, work­shop attendees will be able to enter into a sys­tem­ic pro­cess of work­ing with AI and images in two stages: The first stage cor­res­ponds to the gen­er­a­tion of unfilmed images. In a world full of images, how do we re-sig­ni­fy the exist­ing ones, and how do we gen­er­ate the miss­ing images? The second stage con­sists of ana­lyz­ing and relat­ing the images using dif­fer­ent arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence and machine learn­ing techniques.

Participation

Stu­dents of Media Stud­ies and related areas at the Uni­ver­sity of Tübin­gen are wel­come to par­ti­cip­ate. No pre­vi­ous know­ledge is required, and the entrance is free.

The work­shop will take place on the 4^th of Mai 2023 from 9:30 am – 5 pm in Room 128 (Cam­pus TV) at the Brecht­bau (Uni­ver­sity of Tübin­gen, Wil­helmstraße 50).
